I dislike Valentine’s Day. I worry every year that whatever I do for my wife won’t be good enough, so I don’t do anything. It’s a lose-lose situation in my mind.
So, Valentine’s Day is around the corner. Frankly, this holiday can be a double-edged sword. On the one hand, It’s an opportunity to express your love for your mate in a different way than usual. On the other hand, for some, and it sounds like you’re one of these people, it can create a feeling of pressure and stress.
To be clear, I definitely wouldn’t let this day go by without some acknowledgment. You don’t have to have a limo pull up to your home (unless you want to), but without some gesture, even the smallest, you risk your mate feeling invisible and unloved. And no one wants that!
So whether you get a card and put it in an unexpected location, or you put a flower under your mate’s windshield wiper, do SOMETHING!! Your goal is to make him or her smile. Not a huge ask!
