You should be connecting with your mate every day.
This month’s positive point in my work with a couple happened after I taught this particular husband and wife the 5 points of connection to make with one another during the day. These points of connection are designed to strengthen their relationship in the area of physical affection (which is separate from sexual intimacy) and sometimes needs attention.
The fourth connection point in the day is called the 10-second kiss. This happens upon a couple reuniting at the end of their work day. I recommend to couples with whom I work to keep a box of mints handy in preparation for the 10-second kiss! I’d like to take this opportunity to clarify the 10-second kiss. This connection point isn’t a means to an end. It is strictly to be used to enjoy the kiss for the sake of the kiss.
This particular client took the 10-second kiss a step further by putting a “mint jar” on the mantle in their home. It has become somewhat of a focal point in that their children, knowing the reason for it, now ask their parents, “Have you given each other a 10-second kiss yet?”
I love it!
