Be creative in showing your love for your partner.
Although many times my work with couples involves helping them work as a team to handle a problem, sometimes it involves teaching one or the other or both to be creative in their love for one another. For example, I recently was asked by a client to help her come up with an idea of what to do to celebrate the one-year anniversary of meeting her boyfriend. I shared with her what I had done for my husband on one of our anniversaries and she loved the idea!
I created an anniversary crossword puzzle! The down and across clues for the puzzle were things my husband was asked to remember about our relationship. Each clue gave us the opportunity to talk about whatever memory the clue referenced. It was a wonderfully fun experience and I laminated it so that we can revisit it at any time!
