Rebuilding trust takes work.
This month’s positive point with a client happened when the couple, after much work on rebuilding trust between them and shoring up the foundation of their relationship, decided they were strong enough to move to another state together for new job positions.
When we first began our sessions, their communication was minimal and their teamwork was nonexistent. Week after week, they embraced the tools to strengthen their relationship, and it paid off in a big way!
As with most clients with whom I work, I am the facilitator as I teach people skills and tools to use in their relationships. The operative word here is “use,” for if they don’t grab onto the tools and information and apply them, no progress will be made. In this couple’s case, they enthusiastically embraced all that I gave them. It was fun to watch!
