This month’s Ask Coach Kathy is about couples who find their relationships stagnant.
It’s a new year and although it is supposed to be a fresh start, I feel like when it comes to my marriage, we’re just back to the same old same old. Get up, go to work, come home, eat, sit in front of the television, computer, or phone, then go to bed. The next day we start all over again. How do we stop this drudgery?
You both have to be committed to this, but it will give you a chance to have a plan for the year. Go on-line and find a questionnaire that has to do with life/relationship goals for the year. Some of them are short and some are more extensive. Once a week, spend 30 minutes together filling out and discussing your answers. My guess is you’ll learn something new about each other. The important step is to set a timeline for your goals. Revisit your timeline weekly to keep you on track. Your new goals will infuse new ideas and actions into your life together. Ready, get set, GOAL!
