Last week I was interviewed by Cleveland’s NBC affiliate (WKYC) for the 11:00 PM newscast. The topic? The blockbuster book, Fifty Shades of Grey. The reporter wanted my take on the premise of the book: Is it okay for women to allow themselves to become sexually submissive in their marriage or relationship? My answer: In an adult relationship, with two consenting partners, absolutely! I come from the school of: Whatever lights your fire, go for it! The ground rule is that both parties are consenting and it is agreed upon that boundaries can be set if discomfort occurs at any time.
The reporter also wanted my take on whether the book has fueled sexual fantasies for women. You bet you it has. My guess is that there are a lot of sexually recharged marriages and relationships out there because of this novel.
