“No” Is A Complete Sentence

Last night I watched an interview on CNN’s Piers Morgan’s show where he interviewed Carol Burnett.  Among many of the other wonderful things she talked about, one thing that stood out for me was when she said, “The word ‘No’ is a complete sentence.”  In other words, when setting a boundary with someone, saying “No” is all you need to do. If the word “No” is delivered in a kind way, there’s no need for an explanation.  Once again, evidence that relationships are based on boundaries.  If we neglect our limits, boundaries, and that little word “No” we neglect ourselves!
